Data tips

Some data requires specific access rights, which you as a replicator may not automatically have. The following is a list of datasets that we have accessed in the past. In all cases, you should immediately bring this up with your Team Lead and/or the Lab leadership when you identify such cases.

DHS Demographic and Health Surveys

China Family Panel Studies (CFPS)

• Requires sign-up, we have had access in the past, takes about a week

Kilts Marketing Data

• https://marketingdata.chicagobooth.edu/
• Requires sign-up, but Lars has access to the data. Please immediately bring to his attention.
  • Usage must comply with Kilts Terms of Use, in particular
    • "If I am licensed by Nielsen to use any other consumer panel data, I understand that I must have written permission from Nielsen to link anonymized household IDs. "

Wharton Research Data Services

• Requires a day-pass from the Johnson Library at Cornell for most datasets.
  • Some guidance on how to extract information might be adaptable from this post
• There are datasets that are not accessible via that path.
