lgtm, would be reasonable to check this with nim-stint tests just to make sure they continue to work

Currently every checkpoint is printed. This prints the checkpoint messages for the failed test only.
This used to be #59 but I figured it's better to split it in two. But needs to rebase after #59 is merged.
