This is something I find helpful when I'm working in an area with degraded network. The notion is to keep a local copy of the HDP and HDP-UTILS repos and fire up a httpd container to serve them. For ease of use, I register it with the consul instance. I use DOCKER_OPTS to overwrite repoinfo.xml to point to my local instance.

I tested your change, works well. One more thing missing, a few lines in readme. How and why enable local repo, and an example repoinfo.xml also would be nice. Otherwise no one will use it except you and me :)

Sounds good to me. Okay to put the sample repoinfo.xml and hdp_urlinfo.json files at the top level or would you prefer a contrib folder?

Top level would be fine. Thanks.

Hello @dlyle65535,

I picked up this change, and because there was merge conflicts i moved it to a new branch 07a379d .
Sorry, i missed you updated the readme as i suggested :(.
We update to centos7 so i updated some url to the rigth one. There is an url in repoinfo.xml http://amb-repo.service.consul/HDP-UTILS-1.1.0.20/repos/centos7 but i didn't find any matching url in hdp_utlinfo.json. Is this ok?

Hi @mhmxs - I'm going to try to pick this back up today-tomorrow. I'll look it over and get back.

Thanks!
