What is Minotor

Minotor is a free software dedicated to VJing. The goal of this project is to create a powerfull tool to enhance musical performance with synchronized animations.

Minotor has been designed to produce low resolution graphics adapted to Led Matrix display. Minotor's team works for the moment with a 32*16 pixels matrix but you can use Minotor with higher resolutions.

You can use Minotor with any display like a screen or a video projector but the rendering resolution must stay relatively low, no Full HD here :)

Minotor is ready for live performance and is fully controlable using any midi controler.

In our vision, producing beautiful animations is a good thing but synchronize this animations with the music is essential. To do this we decided to work using midi protocol. This means that Minotor is a midi device that needs to receive midi clock information for example from Ableton live, Traktor or any midi sequencer.

It's also possible to run Minotor in standalone mode (with internal clock) but for best results you should consider getting the clock from your external sequencer.
