This is a major version jump in webpack-dev-server, and cannot be merged in its current state. I looked at this together with @t-animal, and we found that this would require at least the following:
This seems to be non trivial to do. It might actually be worth to consider if ejecting from create-react-app was a good idea in the first place. Maybe we could go back to depending on that (in a recent version of course), and let CRA handle compatibility and configuration of webpack/babel/etc. |
