Updates ratatui-image from 5.0.0 to 8.0.2

Changelog

Sourced from ratatui-image's changelog.

[8.0.2] - 2025-09-03

  • Performance improvements in kitty and iterm2 protocols
  • Use base64-simd
  • Picker::from_query_stdio returns a halfblocks picker when: no capabilities, stdio query timeout, or no font-size received.
  • Add screenshot test suite to CI
  • Add tokio support to ThreadProtocol
  • Updated to rust 2024
  • Add support for terminals: BobCat, warp

[8.0.1] - 2025-05-30

Fix halfblocks not having the same size as other protocols.

[8.0.0] - 2025-05-18

Fix TextSizingProtocol detection (was incorrectly detecting support on Foot terminal).

Separate "stdio query response" from "capability", as they do not match one-to-one. Moved Capability into the picker module, as the interpretation is done there.

[7.0.0] - 2025-05-18

Picker has a new field / method capabilities, which return the precise capabilities detected by Picker::from_query_stdio. Since the struct now holds a Vec, Picker is no longer derives Copy (but still derives Clone). This uncovered some unnecessary copying on a method that previously consumed self for no good reason.

Add Picker::from_query_stdio_with_options to specifically query for Text Sizing Protocol. Not used in this library, but rather an optional convencience feature so that stdio must not be queried twice by some programs. The capability, if detected, is Capability::TextSizingProtocol and can be read from Picker::capabilities().

[6.0.0] - 2025-05-17

Image::new uses a non-mutable borrow.

The mutability was only required for the Kitty protocol, necessary to track wether the image has already been transmitted or only needs placement.

Overall this change should remove the need to use locks when using threads or tokio.

Updates regex from 1.11.1 to 1.12.2

Changelog

Sourced from regex's changelog.

1.12.2 (2025-10-13)

This release fixes a cargo doc breakage on nightly when --cfg docsrs is enabled. This caused documentation to fail to build on docs.rs.

Bug fixes:

1.12.1 (2025-10-10)

This release makes a bug fix in the new regex::Captures::get_match API introduced in 1.12.0. There was an oversight with the lifetime parameter for the Match returned. This is technically a breaking change, but given that it was caught almost immediately and I've yanked the 1.12.0 release, I think this is fine.

1.12.0 (2025-10-10)

This release contains a smattering of bug fixes, a fix for excessive memory consumption in some cases and a new regex::Captures::get_match API.

Improvements:

Bug fixes:

1.11.3 (2025-09-25)

This is a small patch release with an improvement in memory usage in some cases.

Updates image from 0.25.6 to 0.25.8

Changelog

Sourced from image's changelog.

Version 0.25.8

Re-release of 0.25.7

Fixes:

  • Reverted a signature change to load_from_memory that lead to large scale type inference breakage despite being technically compatible.
  • Color conversion Luma to Rgb used incorrect coefficients instead of broadcasting.

Version 0.25.7 (yanked)

Features:

  • Added an API for external image format implementations to register themselves as decoders for a specific format in image (#2372)
  • Added CICP awarenes via moxcms to support color spaces (#2531). The support for transforming is limited for now and will be gradually expanded.
  • You can now embed Exif metadata when writing JPEG, PNG and WebP images (#2537, #2539)
  • Added functions to extract orientation from Exif metadata and optionally clear it in the Exif chunk (#2484)
  • Serde support for more types (#2445)
  • PNM encoder now supports writing 16-bit images (#2431)

Structural changes:

  • Increased MSRV to 1.85.0 (from 1.78.0)

API improvements:

  • save, save_with_format, write_to and write_with_encoder methods on DynamicImage now automatically convert the pixel format when necessary instead of returning an error (#2501)
  • Added DynamicImage::has_alpha() convenience method
  • Implemented TryFrom<ExtendedColorType> for ColorType (#2444)
  • Added const HAS_ALPHA to trait Pixel
  • Unified the error for unsupported encoder colors (#2543)
  • Added a hooks module to customize builtin behavior, register_format_detection_hook and register_decoding_hook for the determining format of a file and selecting an ImageDecoder implementation respectively. (#2372)

Performance improvements:

  • Gaussian blur (#2496) and box blur (#2515) are now faster
  • Improve compilation times by avoiding unnecessary instantiation of generic functions (#2468, #2470)

Bug fixes:

  • Many improvements to image format decoding: TIFF, WebP, AVIF, PNG, GIF, BMP, TGA
  • Fixed GifEncoder::encode() ignoring the speed parameter and always using the slowest speed (#2504)
  • .pnm is now recognized as a file extension for the PNM format (#2559)

Updates tracing-subscriber from 0.3.19 to 0.3.20

Release notes

Sourced from tracing-subscriber's releases.

tracing-subscriber 0.3.20

Security Fix: ANSI Escape Sequence Injection (CVE-TBD)

Impact

Previous versions of tracing-subscriber were vulnerable to ANSI escape sequence injection attacks. Untrusted user input containing ANSI escape sequences could be injected into terminal output when logged, potentially allowing attackers to:

  • Manipulate terminal title bars
  • Clear screens or modify terminal display
  • Potentially mislead users through terminal manipulation

In isolation, impact is minimal, however security issues have been found in terminal emulators that enabled an attacker to use ANSI escape sequences via logs to exploit vulnerabilities in the terminal emulator.

Solution

Version 0.3.20 fixes this vulnerability by escaping ANSI control characters in when writing events to destinations that may be printed to the terminal.

Affected Versions

All versions of tracing-subscriber prior to 0.3.20 are affected by this vulnerability.

Recommendations

Immediate Action Required: We recommend upgrading to tracing-subscriber 0.3.20 immediately, especially if your application:

  • Logs user-provided input (form data, HTTP headers, query parameters, etc.)
  • Runs in environments where terminal output is displayed to users

Migration

This is a patch release with no breaking API changes. Simply update your Cargo.toml:

[dependencies]
tracing-subscriber = "0.3.20"

v0.14.2

What's Changed

New Contributors

Full Changelog: hyperium/tonic@v0.14.1...v0.14.2

v0.14.1

Notable change is to relax the accidental MSRV bump in the last release.

What's Changed

New Contributors

Full Changelog: hyperium/tonic@v0.14.0...v0.14.1

v0.14.0

This release marks an important milestone for tonic, "hopefully" this will be the last major breaking release of Tonic before we start to transition work into bringing the community a joint-effort grpc-rust implementation. For the moment, any new features for the core of tonic that are not related to the work towards grpc-rust will not be accepted (I believe tonic to be in quite a good spot, security features of course will be handled with the upmost importance). Stay tuned there will be more information the coming months on what is going on with the new project but you can already see some of the code in the grpc crate within the tonic repository.

You can always watch this video for more info on grpc-rust.

Breaking Changes

  • Prost updated to v0.14
  • Prost has been extracted to their own crates

Migration guide

To migrate between <=v0.13.1 to v0.14 anything that used prost has now been moved into either tonic-prost or tonic-prost-build. All the previous types are still available but under these two new crates.

Commits

Updates prost from 0.13.5 to 0.14.1

Changelog

Sourced from prost's changelog.

Prost version 0.14.1

PROST! is a Protocol Buffers implementation for the Rust Language. prost generates simple, idiomatic Rust code from proto2 and proto3 files.

⚠️ Revert emission of rerun commands

Version 0.14.1 reverts the emission of rerun commands. Other than this change, it is identical to 0.14.0.

In version 0.14.0, prost-build began emitting rerun commands. While intended to improve build correctness, this change caused regressions for some users—for example, those generating protos from an includes directory. These edge cases are difficult to address reliably, so the change has been rolled back in 0.14.1.

For more details, see [issue #1296](tokio-rs/prost#1296).

Breaking changes

  • prost: Relax Message Debug trait bound (#1147)

BREAKING CHANGE: trait Debug was a supertrait of trait Message. This is no longer required by prost. If your code relies on trait Debug being implemented for every impl Message, you must now explicitly state that you require both Debug and Message. For example: where M: Debug + Message

  • prost: Remove prost-derive feature (#1247)

BREAKING CHANGE: Feature flag prost-derive is renamed to derive. Please rename any usage of prost-derive feature in your Cargo.toml.

  • prost-build: Prevent repeated fields to be boxed (#1237)

BREAKING CHANGE: A repeated field that is manually marked as boxed was typed as Vec<Box<T>>. Those fields are now simply typed as Vec<T> to prevent double indirection. The boxed configuration is effectively ignored for repeated fields.

  • prost-build: Make type_name_domain cumulative (#1228)

BREAKING CHANGE: The configuration for domain names of messages is now cumulative. All calls to prost_build::Config::type_name_domain are now concatenated. The previous behavior was that only the arguments of the last call were used. If you do multiple calls to type_name_domain, you need to remove all but the last call to maintain the same behavior.

  • prost-build: Derive Eq and Hash trait for messages where possible (#1175)

BREAKING CHANGE: prost-buildDescription has been truncated
