Summary of Changes

Hello @deanchanter, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses an issue with file download links in the frontend by introducing proper filename handling and refining the click event logic for message elements. The changes ensure that users can download files with their intended names and that clicking on these download links functions as expected without interfering with other message interactions.

Highlights

  • Enhanced File Download Links: Implemented the ability to specify a filename for downloads, improving the user experience for PDF and other file types by using the download attribute.
  • Improved Click Handling for Links: Updated the click event listener for message elements to correctly distinguish clicks on anchor tags using target.closest('a'), preventing unintended actions when interacting with download links.
  • Refactored Multimedia Rendering: Modified renderMultimediaContent, renderBase64Data, and processPart functions to support the new filename parameter for file downloads, ensuring consistency across file types.

Code Review

This pull request introduces a fix for file download links. It correctly adds the download attribute to anchor tags for files and uses the provided filename. The changes also include a necessary fix to a click event listener to ensure download links are not intercepted. The implementation is solid, but I've suggested one minor simplification to remove redundant code for handling PDF files, which will also improve the consistency of the UI.
