This repository is part of a research project studying communication on GitHub. We are researchers from Stockholm University.

Our goal is to better understand how collaboration can be improved, in line with GitHub’s vision of a safe, welcoming, and productive community.

Our study focuses only on public communication that GitHub users have voluntarily shared according to GitHub Terms of Service.

• All processing of personal data follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU 2016/679).

• The Swedish Ethical Review Authority deemed the study exempt from full review and issued an advisory of no ethical objections.

• The study aligns with GitHub’s policies and community standards:

  • Community Guidelines
  • Community Code of Conduct
  • Reasonable use of AI-generated content
