With Visual Studio 2017 I got
CS1629: Unsafe code may not appear in iteratorserror in Naiad\CodeGeneration\AutoSerialization.cs:1242 . This was caused by atypeof(char*)expression. I changed the instances of this expression totypeof(char).MakePointerType().
