A game that did not make it...

Rules (to be iterated and agreed upon)

  • Graduate gets dropped off at bottom of A-Mountain
  • Graduate hikes up the trail (not just the street)
  • Graduate has 10 coins in a pocket.
  • Adversaries post up on strategic places on the trail
  • When Graduate encounters Adversary, Adversary asks a question (hard). If Graduate answers correctly, Adversary becomes Friend and hikes together with Graduate. If Graduate answers incorrectly, Graduate has to spend 1 coin on Adversary and Adversary asks another question (medium). If Graduate answers correctly, Adversary becomes Friend and hikes together with Graduate. If Graduate answers incorrectly, Graduate has to spend 1 coin on Adversary and Adversary asks another question (easy). If Graduate answers correctly, Adversary becomes Friend and hikes together with Graduate. If Graduate answers incorrectly, Graduate has to spend 1 coin on Adversary and Adversary becomes Friend.
  • When Graduate and Friends arrive at the top of the mountain, Breakfast Facilitator will have breakfast ready for Graduate and Friends.
  • Number of coins remaining in Graduates pocket is counted and recorded on Hall-of-Fame-High-Score-Board.
  • For future realizations of this ritual: the number of questions asked is fixed by the current group size (2 graduates, 3 adversaries), meaning there will always be 3x3 = 9 questions per graduate (otherwise Hall-of-Fame-High-Score-Board is unfair)
  • What happens when number of Graduates exceeds the number of Adversaries remains to be an open question.
  • What happens when number of Adversaries is zero remains to be an open question.
