Creatures

Medieval Overhaul

Unhold:
6mm RHA -> 0.6mm RHA
9MPa -> 2.2MPa
Too much sharp penetration for just thick flesh; steel war arrows and guns should at least be able to do something to it. This one also feels bad to play against since it's a predator and spawns randomly on the map. It's semi-mystical so I'm fine giving it enough armor to bounce weak arrows, even though really it should probably follow in the pattern of vanilla animals where it gets next to no apparel armor but has decent body part resistance to make it hard to hit its insides with weaker weapons. Keeping blunt armor especially high since it's probably got lots of sturdy fat padding its body.

Troll:
8mm RHA -> 0.8mm RHA
12MPa -> 2.5MPa
Same logic as Unhold.

Rox:
3mm RHA -> 0.15mm RHA
5MPa -> 0.225MPa
Too powerful as a tamed animal, and once again way too much armor for just thick fur. Even a legendary plasteel greatsword fully resists on both blunt and sharp by like 30%. This one doesn't even have the justification of being mythical. Bringing this down to "just" thrice what a grizzly has.

Lindwurm:
18mm RHA -> 5mm RHA
15MPa -> 6MPa
I don't know what to do with this one, but it is straight up invulnerable to every weapon in the mod except the blunt damage portion of a ballista. It has better armor than a Thrumbo, all while being a predator that can spawn randomly in a mod that drastically reduces the options for armor penetration. Giving it a bit more pierce resistance than the 3.5mm RHA from the scale shield, which I think is still entirely pierce resistant to every handheld weapon in the game until I add a patch for the arquebus with 6mm RHA piercing musket ammo. Imo that's still not amazing fun, but I guess it's fun to have a beast to go Princess Mononoke on with a nifty firearm or a real use for the mod's siege weapons? Not sure what you're supposed to do until that point though.

Hyena:
0.7mm RHA -> 0
1.05MPa -> 0
The hyena seems the same as the other sub-grizzly animals that don't get apparel armor. A clear example of apparel armor inflation in this mod's patch.

Gryphon/Daer:
12mm RHA -> 4mm RHA
18MPa -> 6MPa
Scaling down similar to the Lindwurm. You'll want mithril arrows to pierce the magical hides on these creatures, but it is technically piercable.

Dire wolf/boar:
1.4mm RHA -> 0.15mm RHA
2.1MPa -> 0.225MPa
More potential candidates for zero apparel armor, but I'll leave a bit on them since they are meant to be fighters.

Deathstinger:
2.25MPa -> 0.7MPa
Gives the same unified pierce/blunt armor as the Webkneckt and Black Scribe, and I think 0.7 is reasonable given how it compares to those.

Dark Ages: Beasts and Monsters

Black Scribe:
1.5mm RHA -> 1.0mm RHA
1.5MPa -> 1.0MPa
This scales it down nicely based on both body size and leg armor compared to the Webkneckt patch from MO.

Crestel:
14mm RHA -> 2mm RHA
18MPa -> 2MPa
Skin like a couple mm of steel should make this sufficiently stoneskinned. Estimating granite as about 10x weaker to penetration than RHA equivalent, the old value would give it almost 3 inches of stone as apparel armor even after accounting for Medieval Overhaul roughly doubling all armor values by treating medieval-era steel as equivalent to RHA. Lower relative blunt resistance since it's stony and should have an easier to exploit weakness for how common it's seemed.

Northern Drog:
1.4mm RHA -> 0.2mm RHA
2.1MPa -> 0.3MPa
Same justification as dire wolf/boar, though it's a bit bigger so I gave it slightly more armor.

Taraal:
0.25mm RHA -> 0.1mm RHA
1.65MPa -> 0.15MPa
Similar justifications as above.

Weapons

Ballista:
13mm RHA -> 18mm RHA
Giving the ballista enough penetration to pierce a Thrumbo in exchange for much increased reload, which was for some reason lower than the scorpio. Accounting for the 2x piercing values from the MO patch treating period steel as RHA equivalent, I think this would put it roughly between a medium and large ballista.
