Pro-Tasker is a full-stack project management application built with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js). It provides a clean and modern interface for users to register, log in, and manage their projects and tasks.

Getting Started (Local Setup)

To run this project locally, you'll need Node.js, npm, and a MongoDB Atlas account.

1. Backend Setup

# 1. Navigate to the backend folder
cd backend

# 2. Create a .env file in the backend folder and add your variables:
# MONGO_URI=<Your MongoDB Connection String>
# JWT_SECRET=<Your JWT Secret Key>
# CORS_ORIGIN=http://localhost:5173

# 3. Install dependencies
npm install

# 4. Start the server
npm run dev

The backend server will be running on http://localhost:5000.

2. Frontend Setup

# 1. Navigate to the frontend folder
cd frontend

# 2. Create a .env.local file in the frontend folder and add the API URL:
# VITE_API_URL=http://localhost:5000

# 3. Install dependencies
npm install

# 4. Start the frontend development server
npm run dev

The frontend will be running on http://localhost:5173.
