NTSC AV-069 v1.01
Bug Description
Throughout the game, low detail objects render in front of high detail objects, making it very hard to drive/see. This can be observed in the below screenshot.
You can see the hard cut near the middle of the screen, since below the ground there's no low detail models, so near the ground the game looks normalish.
Expected Behavior
In the actual game, high detail objects render in front. Note that the buildings close to the camera. Note that there appear to be more missing effects, but they aren't the focus of this issue report.
xemu Version
xemu_version: 0.6.0
xemu_branch: master
xemu_commit: 3c1fcf6
Was reported by another user as working in September 2020. They did not provide screenshots that I could see, and this issue isn't obvious until the after the first tutorial mission. I verified that the bug is still happening back in xemu_version: 0.3.0-2-gfcd3764cce
Upon doing further testing, it appears that all available releases that can boot this game have this visual issue.
System Information
Windows 10
Intel Core i7-6700K
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Driver Version - 461.40
Additional Context
While indoor areas do not exhibit this issue quite as badly, which is why it was likely missed by other users, if you do enter a big enough indoor area, you will see certain objects overlap other models. This means it is not likely related to how the game dynamically allocates objects, as those objects are never loaded/unloaded during interior scenes.
