Pull only Git Subdirectory

Description

I have a relatively large Git repository for which a subdirectory is used for the report. When I make changes to the large files outside the subdirectory and then pull in the Typst WebApp, the alert is given that the changes are too large, even though there are no net changes in the subdirectory.

Perhaps I am quite mistaken, but using sparse-checkouts for the relevant subdirectory should circumvent file-size limitations for changes, right?
