Solution to add footer to 404 page

I think that I've come up with a way to add the footer to the 404 page.
element(only on the 404 page):

<footer id="footer" class="nanPage"></footer>

css:

footer.nanPage {
   position: absolute;
   bottom: 0;
   width: 100%;
}

of course, this is just how I think it could be implemented in, so it's probably not the best.

idc what you call it, really, it was just the first thing that wasn't 404 that I thought of(css can't use numbers as class names).

I don't really think that the footer needs a 404 page. It isn't a page that people are intended to stay on for extended periods of time, and they can always go back to the homepage and use the footer there. Thoughts?

hm, yes, that is true.
But in my opinion, 404 pages should have a similar layout to the rest of the pages.
