<!-- =============================================================== -->
<!-- ============== The content of the page goes here ============== -->
Hi, my name is Shai Halevi and I am a Senior Principal Applied Scientist at <a href="https://aws.amazon.com/security/cryptographic-computing/">AWS Cryptography</a>.
Before that I was a research fellow in the <A href="https://algorand.foundation/">Algorand Foundation</A> (2019-2023), and a researcher in the Cryptography Research Group in
<a HREF="http://research.ibm.com/labs/watson/">IBM T.J. Watson Research
Center</a> (1997-2019).
I received my PhD in Computer Science in 1997 from
<a HREF="http://web.mit.edu/">MIT</a>, and my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in
Computer Science (in 1991, 1993) from the
<a href="http://www.cs.technion.ac.il">Technion</a> in Israel.
My research area is cryptography, and in particular cryptographic protocols
and the building blocks from which they are constructed.
<hr/>
This page is somewhat outdated, with the exception of my
<a href="pubs.html">publication list</a> that I still keep up-to-date.
<hr/>
You can find here <a href="cv.pdf">my CV</a> (updated upto 2023).
Some other things that I was doing are described below:
<ul>
<li>
<b>July 2023:</b>
In this <a href="pubs/webapps.pdf">short note</a> I muse about setting up a PKI to verify the code of web applications.
</li>
<li><p>Together with <A href="http://www.shoup.net">Victor Shoup</a>, we developed a
C++-library that implements homomorphic encryption. The library is available
<a href="https://github.com/homenc/HElib">as an open-source project</a> (under
Apache license v2) from <a href="https://github.com">github</a>.
</p></li>
<li><p>I am a board member of the <a href="http://www.iacr.org/">International Association for Cryptologic Research</a> (IACR).
</p></li>
<li><p>I wrote a software package for Web Submission and Review of papers to conferences.
This package is <a href="websubrev/">available as open-source</a>
under the terms of the <a href="http://www.opensource.org/licenses/cpl1.0.php">
Common Public License</a> (CPL) v1.0.</p>
</li>
<li><p>At some point I put together a few tips on
<a href="pubs/writing-clearly.html"> how to write a clear submission</a>
to conferences.</p>
</li>
<li><p>
I taught a class on Homomorphic Encryption and Lattices, first in
<a href="lattices-and-HE-class/index.html">Tel-Aviv University in 2011</a>, and then in
<a href="columbia6261/index.html">Columbia University in 2013</a> (together with
<a href="http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~tal/">Tal Malkin</a>).
</p></li>
</ul>
<p><i>Other activities:</i>
