r2ai C execute_js is broken

This used to work, but it no longer does. I hope I didn't break something with a fix ;-)

When in automatic mode, the model uses the execute_js tool, with a script, this goes well, an editor opens and helps edit the script. But somehow, either the script never gets executed, or the output is not captured, but for sure no output is ever sent in answer:

but i think its worth using r2mcp instead of r2ai, or at least try to decouple some logic to avoid duplicate work on both projects

I'm not a big fan of MCPs, because you can't modify the command that it tries to run. You can accept, or decline, that's all.
That's why I tend to prefer r2ai + it also makes me use more my brain than feel like a "press button" person ;-)

By the way, sometimes it works. Sometimes it does not. Looks like it's just an output issue, console.log not printing the result. I don't know to be honest. This is speculation.

Thats the tooling problem. Try mai ;) my ai framework permits to use mcps and modify, accept, reject, suggest alternative tools and many more things in realtime. Its lile r2ai, but modularized into several programs that you can pipe thw way you like. I basically refavtored all the experience from decai and r2ai into the unix way

its working now! there was a bunch of bugs in different places but it works as expected finally. trying to get that tool calling work with ollama is a pain, butill get there eventually (reporting bugs to ollama too).

update r2 and r2ai from git! we will need a new release of r2 to get that to work too
