About the units of the size of particle

I am confused about what is the unit (metre, mm, etc) of the particle when we generate the tessellation. For example
sphere(1,100): It means sphere of diameter 1 and 100 facects. But, diameter = 1m, 1mm..?

The dimension is unitless. It can be 1 m or 1 mm. This is more of a simulation issue (when there actually is a size effect).
