I know we agreed to try out latexml, but to me it just feels like such a hack and the output is not very appealing; it lacks built-in search, etc. The code is also filled with weird LaTeX hacks to make things feel nicer.

I tried a pandoc to rst conversion and didn't fix image links, odd conversions from LaTeX, etc (usually from the not-so-clean code in the Word to LaTeX conversion). Just added the index.
