To have some granular control of messages etc.
What if we could set MQTT sub topic under channels ?
Example.
MQTT server is some.mqtt.server with msh/desired-root-topic
Channels can set subtopics:
Channel0 has no subtopic (not needed, but it can be set.
Channel1 has subtopic1
Channel2 has subtopic2
This could be VERY useful I think.
The example could give Channel0 as EU
Channel1 topic could be Country
Channel2 topic could be State
And so on.
If the user does not set any subtopic under channels, it works just like it does today.
If the user set a subtopic in only one channel, it does not affect other channels.
Example 2.
Server is mqtt.meshtastic.org with root topic msh/EU_868
Channel0 has subtopic "NO" (Seems to be the preferred sub under EU_868 for Norway)
Channel1 has subtopic "Troms" (State in North of Norway)
Channel2 has subtopic "SE/Kiruna" (Area in Sweden)
Channel3 has subtopic "NO/Arendal" (City in south of Norway)
The mqtt subtopics set in channels would be a useful-to-have function, if it is possible I do not know.....yet.
Not sure if you get my point, but it is an idea at least :)
