Feature Request: Add Subscription Tracking

Describe the feature

Summary

It would be great if Maybe could support subscriptions as a feature. Many users have recurring expenses like Netflix, rent, or gym memberships, and tracking these separately from one-time expenses would help with budgeting and financial planning.

Proposed Feature

A "Subscriptions" section where users can add recurring payments.

Each subscription includes:

• Name (e.g., "Spotify Premium")
• Amount
• Next Payment Date
• Payment Frequency (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly etc.)
• Category
• Option to connect transactions to subscriptions (e.g., when a user manually records a payment for a subscription, it’s linked directly to that subscription).
• Automatic generation of transactions when a subscription’s next payment date arrives.
• Option to get reminders for upcoming payments.

Why This Would Help Users

• Users can see upcoming payments and plan their budget accordingly.
• Gives better insights into fixed vs. variable expenses.
• Categorization ensures that subscriptions align with the rest of the expense tracking system, making reports and budgets more accurate.
• In my opinion, budgeting would be easier if users could separate fixed recurring expenses from variable ones. Knowing how much of the monthly budget is already committed to subscriptions helps users better plan their discretionary spending.
  Allowing users to connect transactions directly to subscriptions will make it easier to track individual payments and ensure accuracy when managing recurring costs.

I’d love to hear if this aligns with Maybe’s roadmap or if there’s an alternative way to track recurring payments within the current system.

I planned to build my own tool doing most of the thing you have already built, this is one of the only things that are missing form the requirements I had created for my own app.

Doing some research, I found out that it is not common in other countries, but here in Brazil some of the most common credit card purchases are made in installments. In other words, it is possible to make a purchase and pay it's value in X Months.

i.e.
A purchase of R$ 400,00 in 2 installments is basically a recurring purchase, such as a subscription, but with a date to end.

I guess we could use the subscription and delete it manually when the purchase is completly paid, but would be nice if it's also included an option to set an expiration to the subscription, like a recurring event in a calendar, where you can make it repeat for X occurrences and stop after.
