What are online filters?

Hi!

I still have no clue what the online spec for some of the filters means, as I can not find any definition in the repo and in general never heard of it (despite having a master degree in Techno-Mathematics).

Can someone please elaborate?

Nevermind, I think it really is just referencing the behavior as outlined in OnlineFilter:

/// Online filters allow processing incoming samples immediately and hence
/// provide a nearly real-time response with a fixed delay.

There is likely nothing more to it.
