"The requested computer does not have a local admin password" - Azure AD Joined Computer

Hi all,

I have been trying to get our Lithnet AMS instance up and running with Azure AD joined/registered devices.
I've got as far as getting a test device to populate in the Access Manager Directory, but I have run into a bit of a wall.
When I try to request the local admin password, I just get an error that says "The requested computer does not have a local admin password".

The agent is installed and is registering fine, as it populates into the Access Manager Directory without issue.

I checked access-manager-webapp.log and I can see this being thrown:

I'm not quite sure what I am missing at this point.

Hi @SunnySkye,

A few things we can check.

Assuming you are trying to use Lithnet LAPS capability of the agent;

1. Is the policy set up and assigned to the client to instruct it to change the laps password? See https://docs.lithnet.io/ams/configuration/deploying-features/setting-up-laps/setting-up-lithnet-laps
2. If the above steps have been completed, lets check the agent-side log in C:\Program Files\Lithnet\Access Manager Agent\logs and see if there are any errors there about the password not being able to be changed.

If you are just trying to retrieve passwords generated by Windows LAPS, stored in Entra, you don't actually need the agent installed on the client (unless you want to use RapidLAPS). I think the first issue here is the "Access Manager Agent" section is completely missing for me :(

I think I'd rather use Lithnet LAPS, if I can.
