this project is very cool, but is that possible to upstream it? it will be more easy to use it from upstrem directly.

Do you mean putting it in matplotlib directly? I did consider it, and sent an email asking about it on the developer mailing list, but didn't do it for time constraints. It was quicker to upload what I had (after updating it to be both PyQt5 and PySide2 compatible--in a way that I though followed the matplotlib way of doing things). I would consider it again if there is an interest, though I still have only limited time.
