Hi @Costaki33 If you apply this workflow, please feel free to keep us updated on your progress and feel free to ask in case of modeling questions. We are always happy when we see GemPy being used for cool cases such as yours! |

Hello,
I am new to using GemPy. I really like the software package and I'm looking forward to using it. I am a part of the Texas Seismological Network with the University of Texas at Austin and we are currently looking to use GemPy to create realistic 3D tomographical models for our FWI ML model.
I have a question: Is it possible to use GemPy to create synthetic sources and sourcing mechanisms within a given subsurface model?
More specifically, can we use GemPy to create a fault, and from the fault, have it be the source of a seismic event that we can do FWI on? And if so, could we also use a known focal mechanism to model that slip that occurs on a fault within the GemPy model? Essentially, we are trying to accurately simulate the known sourcing mechanisms for earthquakes.
Any advice or known solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Best,
Constantinos Skevofilax
