Genesis

• default.yml is used for any genesis as a base overridden by a specific genesis. For example ethereum.yml is mainnet settings, and by default settings for the forks are taken from default.yml a file agreed on among all the chains, which can be overriden for a specific chain if needed
• forks just contain activation time or block, fork_settings is for the rest
