I have been thinking about writing a slightly more complex server using apkit. It would persist certain incoming activities.
The server will respond to follow requests immediately (like the current minimal server).
Followers are stored with the account they follow:
local_account,follower_account,timestampLikes are saved:
uri,remote_account,timestampBoosts are saved:
uri,remote_account,timestampComments are saved:
uri,remote_account,object,timestampThe server will delete likes, boosts and comments when receiving the corresponding Undo action.
There could also be a simple API to send a message to all followers of the account. The last ten messages could be put in the outbox so there is something to retrieve from it.
Then you would already have a small helpful programme for connecting other applications to the Fediverse.
