How can I edit my account email?

• I confirm I have searched the Docs, Codemagic Sample Projects, and GitHub Discussions.
• I confirm the software versions on my local computer match the ones in CI environment (e.g. Xcode version, Gradle version). See here
• I confirm I am able to do a fresh clone of the repository and build the project on my local computer.

How can I edit my account email?
Why can't I do it by myself?

Hi @burekas7 unfortunately the login email cannot be changed. However, you can transfer the app to a new account and change the app ownership if that’s your intention.

These are the steps to follow in that case:

1. Create a new account using a new email
2. Create a team or add all the necessary apps to your existing team
3. Invite the new account/person to the team
4. Promote them to the owner status
5. Update all necessary credentials if required
6. Remove the old user from the team

1. Currently I am only using Personal Account user (Billing: Disabled)
   How can I add a new user?
   Or is the other option to open a new user and do all the integrations again? (I prefer not to)

2. Do I have to pay to create a Team or is there a free option?

3. If everything is set up under the Personal Account,
   will I have to redo all the integrations and settings (If I use the "Team" option)?

4. Why make all this mess, why isn't there an option even through you to just set up a different email?
   (The previous domain will simply close and I won't be able to use the old email anymore)

Hi @burekas7

1. You can’t add a new user to a Personal account, user management is only available under Teams.

2. There’s no extra fee for creating a Team. You’ll only pay for the build minutes the Team consumes, so yes, you can create a Team without paying anything upfront.

3. When creating a Team, you can transfer apps to it. All environment variables and workflows will migrate along with the app. But, integrations (like Apple Developer, GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab) are tied to the account or Team they were originally added under. This means you’ll need to re-add those integrations as well as certificates and provisioning profiles after the transfer.

4. Just as a reminder, Personal accounts are intended for personal, educational, and non-commercial use, which is also why we include free build minutes. Using them for commercial purposes is a violation of our terms of use

1. How can I set a name for the new personal account, as I did before?
   Currently, it only displays the email address.

2. Do I need to configure the integration only under the "Team" account,
   or also under the new "Personal Account"?

3. In my previous personal account, I had an integration called "Codemagic API.",
   I don’t see it listed under the Team integrations. Is it supposed to be like this?

1. What do you mean exactly? What name are you trying to set, and where have you been able to change it before?

2. You can think of a Personal account as a sort of Team. You can add multiple apps under one Team or Personal account, and each team has its own integrations. So to answer your question: yes, if you transferred the app to a Team, you must re-do the integrations. The integrations that you did on Personal account are for apps that are under Personal account

3. Yes, this is the expected behavior. Each team member has their own personal token. There is no shared team token, so please use the one from your personal account.

1. For example:
   My old user account (on the left) displays a name next to the "Admin" role (the avatar also shows the initials of the name).
   However, the new user account (on the right) doesn't have a name, nor is there an option to add one.
   (see attached image)
   

2. I have a question regarding "Global Variables and Secrets":
   I have two apps, and until now, I've been setting these variables separately in each app.
   Going forward, if I have a common variable, can I define it under the team's "Global Variables and Secrets" instead of configuring it in both apps?

3. What is the purpose of the personal account token?
   And what is the meaning when working within a team environment?

1. Unfortunately this is not yet possible, but this functionality will be implemented in future updates
2. Yes! Now that you’ve transferred your app to a Team, you can make use of global variables and secrets. You only need to define the desired variables once at the team level, and then you can use them across multiple apps. There’s no need to define them at the app level when using team-level global variables. Defining them once for the team is enough.
3. A personal account token is a user-specific authentication token. It allows you to access Codemagic APIs and trigger builds as your user. When you use it to trigger a build, it will show the specific user who triggered it. As mentioned, Teams do not have a shared token, each user uses their own personal token

Since I switched to using it with Team, the build has been taking much longer than before.

The "Publish" step took over 22 minutes — why is it so slow?
This didn’t happen when I was using a Personal account.

What could be the issue?
Will I be charged for this excessive build time?

Also, the Android build duration seems longer than usual as well.

(With another app I have it was better: 68c95f196c255e09b2355f59)

Hi @burekas7 the longer duration you’re seeing in the Publish step isn’t related to whether you’re on a Personal or Team account. In that step, Codemagic uses the official APIs provided by Apple and Google:

app-store-connect publish --path ...
google-play bundles publish ...

Since the publishing process depends entirely on Apple’s and Google’s APIs, we don’t have control over how long it takes. If those APIs are experiencing slowdowns or outages, the same delay would happen even if you ran those commands locally from your machine.

So yes, if the publish step runs longer because the API is slow, that extra time is counted as build minutes
