📋 Upcoming Milestones

1. 📚 Comprehensive Template Tutorials

Goal: Create detailed implementation tutorials for each template on our GitHub Pages

• What: Step-by-step tutorials showing how to build real-world applications using each template
• Includes:
  • Concrete code examples
  • Best practices and common patterns
  • Production deployment guidelines
  • Performance optimization tips
• Templates covered: All current templates (fastapi-default, fastapi-psql-orm, fastapi-dockerized, etc.) & new templates to be created

2. 🧪 Enhanced Testing Infrastructure

Goal: Improve test coverage and create flexible testing framework for future templates

• Unit Testing Enhancement:
  • Comprehensive unit tests with proper mocking
  • Better coverage for edge cases and error scenarios
  • Performance benchmarking tests
• Dynamic Template Testing:
  • Flexible test framework that adapts to new templates
  • Automated template validation pipeline
  • Integration tests for Docker-based templates

3. 🛠️ Expanded Template Collection

Goal: Add support for modern Python package managers and architecture patterns

New Templates:

• Modern Package Managers:
  • fastapi-uv: Template using UV package manager
  • fastapi-pdm: Template using PDM package manager
• Architecture Patterns:
  • fastapi-microservice: MSA (Microservices Architecture) template
  • fastapi-serverless: Serverless deployment template
  • fastapi-graphql: GraphQL API template
• Advanced Features:
  • fastapi-streaming: Real-time streaming template
  • fastapi-ml: Machine Learning API template

4. ⚡ Dynamic Project Deployment CLI

Goal: Enable users to dynamically customize and deploy FastAPI projects

Features:

• Interactive Dependency Selection: Users can choose additional dependencies during project creation
• Dynamic Configuration: Real-time project customization based on user requirements
• Workspace Integration: Seamless deployment to user's workspace with proper structure
• Deployment Options: Multiple deployment targets (local, Docker, cloud platforms)
