Description of the need

This is a followup to backdrop-ops/backdrop-community#43 that identified difficulties many people have in not being aware of the many unreleased modules available in the backdrop-contrib repositories on Github. While some unreleased modules can be buggy and dangerous, others may be usable or near usable and people can assist with development by reviewing and adding to the issues for those repositories.

Proposed solution

On the Install modules page at admin/modules/install add some help text and a link to the backdrop-contrib github repositories.

This form allows you to find modules that have a release. To also find modules that do not have a release and may be in stages of development or porting search the Github repositories. Unreleased modules are not suitable for production as they may have bugs. However, some may be usable and people can assist with development by contributing to the issues for those repositories.

I'd also suggest the whole thing is in a bordered div so it stands out a little more.

I like the direction. Can we try to become even shorter and omit the "Please note:"? I'd also suggest to make two paragraphs, so that the main information has enough space:

I think 'dangerous' is too loaded a word to use here. They might be, but I can't think of any dev modules I've tried with 'dangerous' bugs. Perhaps:

... as they may have significant bugs.

I like @olafgrabienski 's suggestion.

Just a reminder, what we're talking about are basically "dev" releases. All Drupal.org every said about them was: Using dev releases is not recommended, except for testing. It's literally just that one sentence.

How about something like:
