Create a sedona-testing repository?

Other open source projects like Parquet and Arrow have -testing repos (e.g., https://github.com/apache/parquet-testing , https://github.com/apache/arrow-testing ) that contain test data. One of the cool and completely underrated parts of the sedona repo is that it has amazing test, test data, and examples for hundreds of functions!

Would there be any interest in moving some of that to a sedona-testing repository? I maintain https://github.com/geoarrow/geoarrow-data and I'd be happy to donate anything interesting from that (e.g., the WKT/WKB test suite).

@paleolimbot - this is an interesting suggestion! Would a separate repo make the Sedona test data more accessible?

Perhaps! I suppose Arrow and Parquet have a feature that they have more than one arrow-* or parquet-* repo, whereas Sedona doesn't yet. In any case, there's quite alot of geo test data around and it could be cool to have sedona-testing as a home for that if there is interest 🙂

I'd love to have an easy way to access geo test data! I love how the geoarrow-data repo makes it easy to see what test data it contains.
