I’ve been trying to set up the development environment locally and ran into some issues while running: npm run dc:up:dev
All the Docker images build successfully(some are not accessible so not pulled), and the containers start up, but some of the services fail to run properly.
Initially, I was getting an error related to nodemon not being found. Installing nodemon globally on my machine seemed to fix that issue. However, now I’m facing a similar problem with drizzle-kit — the container logs show an error during migrations saying that drizzle-kit is not found.
I tried installing drizzle-kit globally as well, but that didn’t resolve the issue since the container doesn’t seem to have access to the global installation on my local machine.
What’s the correct way to start the dev environment locally using Docker?, I am just starting my career and would love to contribute open source.
There is a question in my mind:
Why are tools like nodemon required globally? Shouldn’t they be included in devDependencies so the environment is self-contained?
So can you help me how can i start dev environment locally , and if this is really the issue , can you guide me how should i approach this i would love to pick it myself if it is at lower priority at your end.
