As per a discussion on Matrix , the Documentation team would like to have a checkbox on each PR that indicates whether or not the PR requires a documentation change that the Documentation team needs to be aware of.

@meichthys Thanks for opening the issue, it got lost on my to-do. If there's any automation workflow for pinging docs team or opening issue in docs repo, or anything of the sort, that would be neat. But totally unnecessary, just instructions on the template would do the trick (to tag as documentation needed, or assign someone from docs, etc)

For user documentation, this might not be that frequent for now, but as we pivot to focusing on code and developer documentation, it will become more relevant

It would take a bit of experimenting with github actions, but it shouldn't be too difficult. We could create an action that when an issue/pr is closed on the notes repo (that also had the needs documentation update label), then open an issue on the documentation repo. It seems like it should all be possible, but I've never actually tried it (across repos and using label triggers).
