I recently got into subbing a japanese drama, it is my first time doing something like this. I tried the auto-translate method with a DeepL key and I quickly learned that its not really the best. my way has been manually translating each line in DeepL by Copy/Paste and fixing it when it doesn't quiet make sense or when you have to guess context. this works for me, as i probably wont be doing anything else after this. It takes a very long time. knowing some japanese and being able to read Kana also helps me in this method as well. |

It's "Faster-Whisper-XXL", I don't know what "WhisperSync" is. |

I often need to translate obscure asian movies/shows from Korean/Japanese/Chinese languages to English.
Usually my method goes like video file --- to purfew faster XX (WhisperSync) --- original subs | og subs --> gemini 4.5/DeepSeek -- English.
Sometimes the result is quite good, but most of then not, there's always either subs that are not/wrongly captured by WhisperSync, so the tranlsation is way off.
So I just thought whether anyone else have better experience with any different combo or method?
