Cannot create folders with quickJump

Hi,
I cannot create folders with QuickJump/Qucikmove

When I got to the quickjump field and enter a new name for a folder that does not exist, select "create folder" the folder is not created.

• IMAP
• Many many folders in different accounts...
• Using e.g. "projects/new Co" as name
• Folder does not appear, neither quick nor slow
• Creation directly in the folder tree does not work
• STRG-M does NOT open the quickMove BUT opens a new message here...

Thanks for reporting!! I cannot reproduce the problem, it works for me (IMAP).

One question, after you have selected the "create subfolder projects/new Co" from the list, does the messagebox show up?

Also an error log would be super helpful!

1 open console with - Ctrl+Shift+J
2 delete all messages with the reset button
3 once you have tried to recreate the problem, right-click in error console to copy all messages:

Thanks for the log file. I will ask a Thunderbird specialist on tonight's add-on developer meeting. maybe I can somehow guard against the error. NetworkTimeoutError seems to imply something internal, probably related to IMAP network protocols. Is it an ordinary IMAP account with normal access?

You could help me zoom in on the error even more if you enable QuickFolders debug mode and then right-click the debug checkbox and enable the config setting
extensions.quickfolders.debug.getOrCreateFolder = true

the debug log is interesting from first mention of "GETORCREATEFOLDER" forward.

hold on, is that what you type in the input box that prompts for the name? you cannot put "/" into a folder name - that would explain why it doesn't work.

you can only create one subfolder (e.g. new co) in an existing parent folder. So you would have to do this:

• in the search fields enter at least the parent folder "projects" as the last folder, e.g. "tb-b/pro/", followed by the slash for creating the subfolder. Also, you only get the option to actually create a new subfolder if the parent folder ("projects") has at least one subfolder already. This reduces the number of choices & complexity for 90% of the use cases

• you then get the dialogbox with the name you have typed so far (you can correct it or add letters):

This creates the new subfolder underneath the last parent "projects" - I need to do a few more tests what could cause the subsequent jump (or moving emails there) to fail...

Doing it as above. No "/" in the "new folder" but only in the search field. Maybe it is the old timeout or so, as I have many, many folders.
