In fact, I already forked it, it's been 2 years they don't have updates and I need it and I saw a lot people need it too.

It was updated to support Laravel 9. Do you want to extend the functionality?
I am not using the package. But if you like we can fork the project and create a new subgroup, like for jwt-auth. Then you can maintain it here.
