Midnight Commander – always the first command #4737

Hey, thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, I can't give Midnight Commander even more time, even though it deserves it and there's so much to be done. However, we are doing what we can. Any help, in any form, is always appreciated. Even if you're not a programmer or are unfamiliar with C, one huge time sink is the ticket system. There are so many open tickets, and they contain a mix of useful, outdated, obsolete, incorrect, and incomplete information. It really helps if bugs can be investigated to determine whether they are still reproducible, when and how they were fixed, and if clean reproducers or patches can be created to fix them. There is also so much untested code, and the documentation is in poor shape. These are all areas that can be worked on and that could help take the load off of us. |

Hi folks,
Just wanted to say thanks for
mc
. No matter the distro – desktop or industrial Linux –mc
is always the first thing I install and launch. It’s been part of my workflow for years.Even at home or in production, it’s my go-to. I'm mostly a C++/.NET dev, but I'd be happy to contribute somehow if there's ever a chance.
Thanks for keeping it alive. Respect. 🙌
