Add a one-click app for Metabase

Metabase is a tool for Exploratory Data Analisis that we analized in here:

We agreed on exploring a test of it with one partner.

Did an initial deployment of metabase for testing purpose on demo.
It seems having both openrefine and metabase running in the same server didn't work, I am almost certain it is because of memory requirements.
I set it up by using the embedded database instead of using a postgres database for the configurations.
In any case, it would be accesible via http://metabase.demo.guardianconnector.net/

Authentication is a pain, as it happens in its own terms, and integration with auth services is a add-in that is proprietary (and expensive).

Metabase has LDAP support. There used to be an LDAP-Auth0 proof of concept but it was abandoned long time ago:

In case we want to do a script to bootstrap metabase, we can use mitmproxy (I now how it works) to record the http session and then use it as a script to replay the session once we set up the service.
It is not a robust solution, as it depends on them maintaining the http conversation as it is when the recording happened... but it is also a pretty simple to maintain feature.

I am learning now that Metabase is an api-first tool, so all requests are actually quite stable, so this approach would be quite an easy way to mimic what one does over a UI.

And the same guy that is sharing about the API, worked out a script for using the API to setup an instance over API calls.

This can also be used to setup initial database access, users, and more.

I like that this is the case, because it would allow deep integrations like:

• prepopulating database access
• managing users
• integrating models (metadata about the tables in the database) pulled from Kobo or ODK into Metabase for better integration
