It is not necessarily true that no configuration or code is required. In order for HTTP/S connections to use the dedicated IP address, the following must also be true:

  1. Advanced networking must be enabled on the environment
  2. The code making the HTTP/S connection must use the system defined proxies.

A sample code or a link to sample code where the http/s connection is made properly should be provided.
