Make a LoRA

Since installing automatic1111 a couple of months ago I've spent many happy hours generating what must by now be hundreds of images. Although I'm fairly pleased with these results they're never quite what I want, so, it's time for me to make my own ai model. I've been reading up on this and it seems that a LoRA is the easiest option, however I've also heard mention of algorithms and suchlike, I know as much about algorithms as I do about brain surgery. My questions are is there any chance that a complete layman like myself would ever be able to make a LoRA, and is there an easy to follow step-by-step guide anywhere?. Any advice would be much appreciated as I really want to have a go at this. Thank you.
